ICCJ: Excellent Manchester program expected

Lord Jonathan Sacks, Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth, will be the key note speaker of the 2012 ICCJ international conference, to be held in Manchester, July 1-July 4. Rabbi Sacks will address to conference on Monday, July 2.

The ICCJ was invited to Manchester to celebrate the 70^th anniversary of the Council of Christians and Jews in the United Kingdom, the very first origins of which lay in Manchester, in the Midland Hotel. (picture)

The conference will be on Multiculturalism and social responsibility and will be co-hosted by the Council of Christians and Jews in the United Kingdom and the Manchester CCJ branch. The program committee is chaired by Dr. Daniel Langton, Professor of the History of Jewish-Christian Relation in the department of Religions & Theology at the University of Manchester.

Workshops will be offered by the ICCJ, the CCJ/UK, the University of Manchester, the Woolf Institute of Cambridge University and the Parkes Institute for the Study of Jewish/nonJewish Relations, University of Southampton.
